2015 Missions
Many teams and incident base staff have participated in the following missions. In our area there are other great teams that regularly participate in missions. What we have reported here is what we saw and in no way do we intend to take full credit for any of these missions.

Date: February 2, 2015
Location: Picacho, NM
Subject: Hunters on horseback
Hunters on horseback killed sheep and planned to return to their vehicles. Got turned around and lost. Once horses were exhausted, they called in. Subjects traveled out before SAR resources deployed.

Date: March 20, 2015
Location: Mogollon, NM
Subject: Male Hiker
Subject drove to Glenwood, NM and attended a bible study meeting and arranged for a pastor to drive him to a trailhead in the Gila. After dropping the subject off, the pastor drove back to Glenwood, where he noticed the subject's vehicle parked with a suicide note on the dash. Search operations continued for four days with no clue or evidence of the subject being in the area.

Date: April 29, 2015
Location: Willow Creek Campground
Subject: Male hunter
Subject left camp to find antler sheds. He spent the night out and was found the next afternoon heading away from camp by two hikers who had been alerted to the search activities.

Date: May 10, 2015
Location: Hopewell Lake Campground
Subject: Male Shedding Gatherer
Male subject, together with son and two friends looking for Elk antlers, lost near Hopewell lake. Seven days of search operations did not find sign of subject in area.

Date: May 14, 2015
Location: Sandia Crest
Subject: Despondent Female
Subject's vehicle was discovered at Sandia Crest parking lot by BCSO, conducting a welfare check. Subject was reported as missing person earlier in the week. Keys located on top of vehicle and later determined to be placed there by a hiker who discovered them on a trail. Hiker reported he had seen the subject on the crest trail, south of the parking area. Search team was tasked to re-search area and discovered remains of the subject over a cliff, about 300 feet down.

Date: September 20, 2015
Location: Gila National Forest
Subject: Male Hunter
Subject reported overdue after failing to return to ATV location at sunset by member of hunting party. After subject's flashlight died en route to rendezvous with hunting party, he decided to spend night in forest and walked out to nearby hunting camp in the morning. A member of hunting camp then drove subject to IB.

Location: Hummingbird Passt
Subject: Male Horseback Rider/Hunter
Subject went off with husband and set up elk camp about 4 miles from vehicle. Husband got off horse and could not keep up with wife on horseback.
